Samsung unveils BTS Edition Galaxy S20+ and Buds+ in collaboration with K-pop group
The devices come in purple, a colour that is significant to the group and its fans after one of its members said "I purple you", which he explained meant trust and love.

ARMYs, want to feel even closer to your favourite idols? Samsung has just revealed a smartphone and earbuds that are the result of a collaboration with K-pop group BTS.
The Samsung Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy Buds+ BTS Edition will be available from Jul 9, which marks the seventh anniversary of the BTS fan collective, and they all come in the colour purple, which is significant to the band after member V told fans, “I purple you”, which he explained meant love and trust.
The smartphone has a purple glass and metal exterior and comes pre-installed with BTS-inspired themes and fan community platform, Weverse.
Also included in the box are decorative stickers for fans to further personalise their device, as well as photo cards featuring pictures of the idols. There's even a tiny purple heart at the camera.
The Galaxy Buds+ and charging case carry the band’s logo and purple heart iconography.
“Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy Buds+ BTS Edition are the result of a collaboration between BTS, whose members spread messages of love and harmony through music, and Samsung, which is creating a better future with meaningful innovation. We hope it will be a source of joy and entertainment for fans and consumers around the world,” said Stephanie Choi, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Marketing Team of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics.
The Galaxy S20+ is priced at S$1,598 while the Galaxy Buds+ BTS Edition is priced at S$298.
The smartphone will be available for pre-order in Singapore from Friday (Jun 19, 12pm) through Singtel and Samsung online store and from Jun 26, 6pm, from Starhub. Pre-orders for the earbuds will be through the Samsung online store. Pre-orders will end on Jul 5.
