Japanese retailer Tokyu Hands announced on Wednesday (Jul 1) that it will close its Westgate outlet in August.

The announcement was made on its social media pages, which confirmed that the store will be permanently closed from Aug 3 and that the last day of operations will be on Aug 2.

The store is popular for giving consumers the ability to browse for hours because of its wide variety of products, anything from beauty items and travel accessories to kitchenware and stationery.

The Westgate branch is the first Tokyu Hands outlet in Singapore, opened in September 2014.

Tokyu Hands is the latest in a string of retailers leaving the mall and surrounding area. Isetan closed its Westgate outlet in March and Robinsons will leave its Jem location in August.

You can still get your Tokyu Hands fix at the five other outlets: Orchard Central, Suntec City, PLQ Mall, Jewel Changi Airport and Great World City.
