Chinese Actress Ying Er Suffered A Miscarriage After Getting Suspended From A Wire For A Whole Day

Chinese actress Ying Er, 33, who’s probably best known for playing Xia Dongchun in the 2011 Chinese period drama Empresses in the Palace, recently opened up about a heartbreaking loss she suffered 'cos of work.

She started off by saying that as an actress, she is often required to be suspended in mid-air while hanging from a wire. Ying Er revealed that the process tends to be uncomfortable and painful, but actors have no choice but to grit their teeth and bear with it.

Ying Er then shared that she once had to be suspended from a wire for an entire day.

At that time, Ying Er was actually pregnant with twins though she didn't know it.  She was already feeling a fair bit of discomfort from the wire work but continued to endure it as she thought she was just experiencing the usual pain that comes with being suspended from a wire.

That's Ying Er in Empresses In The Palace on the right.

She only sought medical attention after filming wrapped for the day. After getting a check-up, Ying Er received a heartbreaking piece of news.

The doctor told the actress that she’s pregnant with twins. However, 'cos of the dangerous stunt, she miscarried one of her babies.

With tears welling up in her eyes, Ying Er shared that she could not help but blame herself for what happened.

Ying Er and her husband celebrated their daughter's fourth birthday in January this year.

After coming to terms with the painful news, Ying Er made sure to take care of herself, and carried her remaining baby to term.

The actress, who’s married to Chinese actor Fu Xin Bo, 35, gave birth to their daughter, Little Moonlight, in 2018.

Unfortunately, there was no time to waste for the actress after that. She returned to work not long after, sharing that she wanted to ensure she wouldn’t be forgotten by the public after taking a break from work to give birth and recuperate.
