Rainie Yang reportedly drifted apart from bestie Tiffany Ann Hsu after the latter married Roy Chiu, who dated Rainie years ago

Would you be okay if one of your closest friends marries your ex-boyfriend?

For Taiwanese actress Rainie Yang, 39, the answer is most probably... No.

Recently, a netizen took to Taiwanese social media platform Dcard to write a post titled: "Rainie Yang doesn't follow Tiffany Ann Hsu on Instagram". 

Tiffany, 39, is married to Taiwanese actor Roy Chiu, 42, who just so happens to be Rainie's ex. 

Rainie and Roy, who starred together in 2003 idol drama Original Scent of Summer, reportedly dated for eight months before calling it quits.

Rainie once hinted that her most unpleasant breakup was with a fellow celebrity, leading to speculations that she and Roy had ended things on bad terms. 

Interestingly, Rainie and Tiffany have been pals since they were classmates at the Taipei Hwa Kang Arts School. The two stars were part of a close-knit clique, named 'Hwa Kang Wu Ren Bang', with late Taiwanese actor Alien Huang and two other friends who are not in showbiz. 

According to the netizen who wrote the post, Rainie and Tiffany drifted apart after the latter married Roy in 2021. Rainie also follows everyone in the clique on Instagram, except Tiffany.

"I used to like Hwa Kang Wu Ren Bang. I really admired how they were friends since high school but now it looks like things can never be the same again...," lamented the netizen.

Another netizen pointed out that Tiffany still follows Rainie on IG, but also highlighted how the clique hasn't hung out as often after Tiffany got hitched. Instead, they would have separate meetups. 

Not everyone thinks Rainie not following Tiffany is a big deal. 

"Does it really matter whether or not they follow each other?" questioned one such netizen.

Some also argue that Rainie has already patched things up with Roy. 

Back in 2018, Rainie congratulated Roy for winning Best Actor at the Golden Horse Awards for his performance in Dear Ex. 

When Tiffany and Roy announced their marriage, Rainie, who married Chinese singer Li Ronghao in 2019, also gave the couple her blessings.
