“Shut up, get lost”: Francis Ng when asked if he’s getting paid alot to be on Chinese variety show

Like many Hong Kong stars, actor Francis Ng, 62, has been busy developing his career in China in recent years.
The star has guested on several Chinese variety shows and most recently, was invited to serve as producer and mentor on the second season of reality show Memories Beyond Horizon, which recasts new actors in several classic TVB dramas.
Francis is not one to mince his words and the acid-tongued mentor, with his perpetual look of exasperation and straightforward criticism at contestants, has been a topic of discussion.
Recently, a video of Francis leaving work made the rounds on Xiaohongshu.
In the clip, he can be seen walking as reporters follow closely.
One could be heard saying to him: "Teacher, you've worked hard… It must be really tough for you to participate in this programme."
Francis did not respond to the remark and simply nodded as he walked.
The reporter continued: “They must have paid you a lot? Were you forced to come here?”
Francis broke into a smirk then jokingly said: “Shut up, get lost.”
Netizens were amused by his reaction and praised the reporter for having the guts to ask Francis the cheeky question.
There were comments like "You can tell he's really struggling to hold it in”, “It looks like he’s cursing in his mind” and “[What he meant to say is] ‘Shut up, only you understand me’.”
Some netizens also commented that it’s no wonder he doesn’t act in Hong Kong dramas anymore.
