In a video uploaded on Wednesday (Jan 24), YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk confirmed that Ahyeon will be rejoining the K-pop group BabyMonster, having been on hiatus to due health issues.
The news comes weeks after Yang hinted that the door to Ahyeon rejoining BabyMonster was not closed.
In the two-minute-long video, Yang revealed that Ahyeon is currently recording songs for BabyMonster's upcoming mini-album, slated to drop on Apr 1. BabyMonster's previous tracks Batter Up and Stuck In The Middle will also be re-recorded for this mini album to feature Ahyeon's vocals.
Yang also shared that he hopes to release BabyMonster's first full-length album "in autumn this year" and added that company has increased the number of its in-house producers from 10 to "about 50".
"I promise that the process (of releasing new music) will be much faster than before."
With Ahyeon back in BabyMonster, the group now has seven members, including Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Rami, Rora and Chiquita.
