Acclaimed singer-composer AR Rahman will finally return to Singapore this August – 10 years after his Infinite Love concert at Gardens by the Bay. This time, Rahman will be commanding a much bigger stage at the National Stadium.
Titled A Rahman Rhapsody, the concert will take place on Aug 31 and is organised by production company Maestro Productions and Singapore-based concert promoter Unusual Entertainment.
Mediacorp's melisten platform will be offering fans priority booking access and a 10 per cent discount. To participate, you'll need to register at melisten.sg or via the melisten app by 11:59pm on Jul 2. Registered users will receive a unique link via email on Jul 4 which can be used to access the pre-sale event which starts at 10 am Jul 5 via Sistic. Do note that each transaction is limited to eight tickets, and the discount only applies for VIP to Cat 4 tickets.
Thereafter, an early bird sale happen on Jul 6 from 10am to 11pm, where fans can enjoy 10 per cent off most tickets.
General sales will then take place on Jul 7, with ticket prices ranging between S$148 and S$398.
Ahead of his Singapore concert, Rahman will be performing at Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Jul 27.
In a career spanning over 30 years, AR Rahman has produced the soundtracks to over 140 Hollywood, Bollywood and Kollywood films. Some of his famous pieces were featured in 1992's Roja, 2001's Lagaan and 2006's Rang De Basanti.
He gained global recognition through his work on Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire which earned him two Academy Awards: One for best original score and another for best original song.
In 2022, he directed his first film Le Musk which was shot entirely in Rome.
