Celebrity couple Chen Yixin, 23, and Gavin Teo, 28, have called it quits after five years of dating. Yixin, who is the daughter of famed actors Edmund Chen and Xiang Yun, first announced the split in an Instagram post on Tuesday (Feb 6).
Posting a photo of a starry night, Yixin wrote: "After much reflection and deep respect for each other, Gavin & I have made the difficult decision to journey on different paths."
She added that sharing the news "wasn't easy" given the expectations placed on their relationship. However, she believed that it was important for her to be "open and honest about this new journey".
Yixin's post was met with a wave of support from her fans and celebrity friends, including social media influencer Rachel Wong who wrote: "You deserve the world."
Yixin and Gavin went public with their relationship in 2021, after dating for two years. They first met while shooting the short film Rhythm Of Youth and have since collaborated on multiple projects and endorsement deals, including with Dior and Mango.
Gavin has yet to issue a public statement on the breakup.
