South Korean singers Hyuna, 32, and Junhyung, 34, will get married in October. Junhyung's agency, Black Made, confirmed the news in a statement to South Korean media outlets on Monday (Jul 8), saying: "Junhyung and Hyuna, with their deep affection and trust for each other, will have a wedding ceremony in October with close acquaintances.
"We would be grateful if you could send your affectionate interest and congratulations to Junhyung who is starting a new chapter in his life."
Hyuna's agency At Area released a separate statement, saying: "Hyuna and Junhyung, who have been a great source of comfort for each other during difficult times, will get married. They will hold a ceremony with close friends in October and begin a new life.
"We would like to thank everyone who has always supported us with warm eyes, and we ask for your blessings for Hyuna's future as she has made such a big decision as an artiste and a person."
According to South Korean news outlet Sports Chosun, the wedding is set to take place on Oct 11 at Samcheonggak – a mountainside resort in the neighbourhood of Seongbuk-gu in Seoul, South Korea. The outlet added that the couple had registered for the venue a few months ago during springtime.
Hyuna and Junhyung, who were former labelmates at Cube Entertainment, first went public with their relationship in January this year. However, their relationship has received much scrutiny from the public – with many fans of Hyuna expressing their disappointment towards her.
In 2019, Junhyung was incorrectly named as a member of a chatroom which saw singer Jung Joon-young sharing secretly-recorded videos of himself having sex with women. However, Junhyung later clarified that he wasn't part of the chatroom but he did watch a sex video, sent by Jung Joon-young privately, that was filmed without consent.
As a result of the controversy, Junhyung left his group, the K-pop boy band Highlight.
