Jacelyn Tay explains why she doesn't have a domestic helper

Covered in just a bath towel, former Mediacorp actress Jacelyn Tay shot what she called “a very random and impromptu video”. Before some of you have any dirty thoughts, take them out of the gutter, please.

The 48-year-old took to social media to answer what we think is an important question to many of her followers. “My friends always ask me, why do I not want a helper?” she said.

Her answer? “I think either the helper cannot survive under me, or I cannot survive with the helper," she quipped.

Jacelyn then proceeded to demonstrate how she removes the toilet bowl cover and which areas need to be sparkling clean.

“I will require the helper to take this entire thing (toilet bowl cover) to wash,” she said.

However, Jacelyn went on to say removing and cleaning the toilet bowl cover is no big deal, but it is just one of the many things she needs to do.

“I think I better do it myself. If not, I will take over and I’ll become the helper’s helper in the end,” she laughed.

According to the captions in the video, Jacelyn often hears friends complaining about their helpers and the video was for anyone who is “toying with the idea of giving up (their) helper”.

The clip drew many comments, most of whom seem to share the same feelings towards keeping the toilet bowl clean.

“You are so funny! I thought I was the ultimate employer… You beat me!” wrote a netizen.

Another netizen shared that even though she cleans the toilet bowl daily, Jacelyn’s video made her realise how easy it is to remove the cover.

However, a sharp-eyed follower noticed that Jacelyn touched her face and lips and called her out about it.

To which she replied: “Yah! I also realised! After that, I went to bathe and scrub my face".

Don’t worry Jacelyn, we don’t think there is a cleaner toilet seat than yours.
