Singer Ronan Keating performing at Mediacorp fundraiser President’s Challenge Night 2024
President’s Challenge Night is part of the President’s Challenge. This year's President’s Challenge also includes a 12-hour walkathon.
President Challenge 2024 is set to be bigger than ever before. This year's fundraiser will have a slew of activities supporting those in need, including the first President’s Challenge Walkathon – a 12-hour relay – and a performance by Irish singer Ronan Keating at Mediacorp’s flagship fundraiser President’s Challenge Night 2024.
Held on Oct 6, the inaugural President’s Challenge Walkathon features two teams clocking over 90 kilometres in two routes. Mediacorp artistes such as Rebecca Lim, Pierre Png, Mike Kasem, Aura Shai and Mohamed Rafi will be among those participating.
The event will be flagged off by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam at The Turning Point Halfway House. As part of efforts to better understand the social service landscape in Singapore, the teams will also make stops at selected organisations backed by President’s Challenge 2024.
There, the teams will learn more about the causes championed by these organisations and their work in supporting vulnerable groups. The walkathon will conclude at The Theatre at Mediacorp and be featured as a key segment in President’s Challenge Night 2024.
This year's iteration of Mediacorp's iconic fundraiser event will have some serious star power. Irish singer and Boyzone member Ronan Keating returns to Singapore a year after his last concert here and will thrill fans with hits such as Life Is A Rollercoaster, When You Say Nothing At All and Picture Of You.
Other performers include veteran singer Rahimah Rahim as well as TikTok-viral pianist Jovanna Yam and local duo Jack and Rai.
Songs and dances aren't the only things to look forward to at President’s Challenge Night 2024.
Recently-retired superstar goalkeeper Hassan Sunny might just face his toughest opponent yet: President Tharman Shanmugaratnam.
The two will face off in a football penalty showdown during the show in what's sure to be an event highlight.
As part of fundraising efforts, Mediacorp will launch a nationwide publicity campaign – across its channels, radio stations, and digital and social platforms – highlighting the stories of those in need as well as the impact the President’s Challenge has had in uplifting the lives of beneficiaries.
President's Challenge Night 2024 will air live on Channel 5, mewatch and Mediacorp Entertainment on YouTube from 7.30pm on Oct 6. More information can be found on Mediacorp's website.
