Alec Su Declined To Meet Nicky Wu & Liu Shi Shi To Celebrate His Call Me By Fire Win 'Cos He Thought They Were Going To Ask Him For A Treat

Taiwanese boyband The Little Tigers was one of the most popular Mandopop bands in the ‘90s.  

Though it’s been almost three decades since the trio disbanded, Nicky Wu, Alec Su and Julian Chen, have remained good friends.

Alec and Julian were groomsmen at Nicky’s wedding to Chinese actress Liu Shi Shi in 2016, and they would occasionally meet up for meals.

When Shi Shi attended an event recently, she was asked about her thoughts on Alec’s performance on the second season of Chinese reality talent show Call Me By Fire.

Last Friday (Nov 4), Alec defeated 21 finalists including season 1 winner Jordan Chan, Raymond Lam and Vanness Wu to be crowned the overall champion.

Shi Shi praised Alec’s performance, saying he exemplified the never-say-die spirit of the show.

In fact, she and Nicky had asked Alec out for a meal to celebrate his win but were turned down. Alec was crowned the overall champion of Call Me By Fire 2

Turns out, the couple have a habit of setting Alec up on blind dates and also mooching off him, so he was wary of their intentions.

“He asked us if we are trying to get him to treat again now that he has won [Call Me By Fire 2],” said Shi Shi with a laugh.

“Actually no. I want to tell Alec that next time if he comes across any good shows like Call Me By Fire, don’t forget to recommend Nicky.”
